Lyrics for "Well Past Midnight Hour"

Very early in the year
She was born with the old name
Like the city like the saint
One to never cry a tear
Holding her thoughts so near
Never foolish by the dove
That announces lust and love
Another soul kept in this town
Where hopes are all brought down
She dreams of wings to soar above

With a guitar in his right hand
He was born across the water
A place where time don’t matter
And the wind’s the sole command
A man’s a bird over the land
He looks at city malls, like they’re walls
Windmills to attack and to stand tall
He dreams of fields in boulevards
Of ox and horses instead of cars
And tales of love to hide his fall

It was well past midnight hour
Gazes crossed almost by chance
When this story commenced
The daring knight against a tower
It was well within her powers
To let this curious suitor go
But with so much to be known
Well she really couldn’t help
Better let him show himself
Than let herself be shown

Born to dance without a touch
Two bodies mirrored in their form
Though one a rose, one is a thorn
Beauty and pain attract so much
To misguide and to misjudge
Their eyes speak the tongue of love
Like they never had known of
Will they really understand
Now is this his new command
Are these her wings to soar above?
